[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
With all the snow we had this winter and with spring thaw we are now flooded and this goose is actually on someone's lawn

In Grand Isle Vermont I wanted to photograph a distant smaller island when suddenly this lonely canadian goose came out of nowhere.

When a goose is alone she is either old and widowed or wounded, as these geese mate for life.

Often we will see straying geese couples that have left the flock, resting and quacking away, and often mingling and adapting with domestic geeses. Being fed and cared for by the farmers is a welcome retirement for them.

Impressive image of the flodded lawn...The goose certainly doesn't seem to mind, she looks very relaxed, and she surely doesn't care for the sign! :)))
TFS, Dot!
Best regards,

Hi Dot,
It is apparent that this goose cannot read! Great texture to the wind copped lake. Beautiful clarity and details to this fine image.

Hi Dot,
I like the color and composition of this shot. Living in Ohio I understand about flooding and often see scenes like this one. Hopefully this goose was joined by a few other later. Great shot!
Regards,
Kevin

BTW: Thanks for the kind words on my gorilla picture.

geese mate for life too? this is new to me.. i only know that wolves mate for life.. no wonder i collected the figurine because i like it. now i know.. love the simplicity of this shot.
