This is just a wonderful image, everything works.
In reviewing your library of photos, for what it's worth from me, I really enjoy your style. I can really get a sense of the photojournalist that you are and were. ;0)
This shot is so well lit and staged; sharp and soft, a background that fits the mood and tells the story and the whole thing just portrays affection.
Very nice work indeed. (the "then and now" is wonderful and the other image nothing short of spectacular.)

A fine portrait, Bob. I especially like the sidelighting, the choice of close-up, and even the seeming mix of sharp and soft. There's contrast and character and warmth in this wife of yours.
