Roger,
This is a great view of the jockey's intense look. Perhaps a lower aperture might have given you more detail and focus on the horses face but that might have lengthened your shutter speed. I also think that by doing that it may have taken some of the concentration of his intense look, so maybe you got this one just right. The shallow DOF here is perfect. The tight crop works nicely here.
Great work my friend,
Scott

Roger Hi:
Excellent presentation of color, clarity and decisive moment. Very well done. Congratulations

Hi, Roger -
Great photo - you've captured the tension and concentration in his expression perfectly. The light is well-managed despite the white uniform. The jockey is very sharp; there seems to be a slight bit of softness in the focus on the horse's head; it was no doubt moving when you snapped. Overall a great image.

Good portrait of jockey!

I've always wanted to go over to this racetrack in Berkeley Roger,
you have me even more curious about shooting there now ;)
It's a great close up and detail with lots of expression.
Well placed rider int he frame. Great zoom. Did you take this from the stands?
- Vincent

A really nice close-up of this jockey! I like how you have framed this. The colors are very nice. Alot of tension at this moment. TFS and have a great day!

Hi Roger,
I do like the racing series of photos and like this one a lot. I really like the sharpness, and the expression, of the jockey and the stunning bokeh of the background setting it off.
I could go either way on the horse's head but in the end I think I do like it slightly off from the jockey, in terms of sharpness.
Either way, great shot well presented.
Thanks for sharing,
Wilt

hi roger
i can say:You don't have to be beautiful
To be understood
You don't have to be rich and famous
To be good
You just gotta give more, more, more
Than you ever have before
And you gotta move fast, fast, fast
If you want this good thing to last
