It was a sunny and warm Memorial Day...but the parade was very small...consisting only of 4 soldiers a flag, a Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop...and a bugler....

The Scouts were there as a part of what scouts do....community service I suppose but they are too young to really understand what it is that they are doing...and yet in a few short years, they too will be old enough to go off to war....but on this Memorial Day 2008 I caught them in a rather off guard profile. I wondered...as the listened to a few speakers go on and on...as to what was going on in their minds...perhaps the afternoons ballgame or a bar b que? Perhaps one at least caught in a dreamlike state....I wish them God Speed!

Nice emotion, rag tag little group honoring the fallen, has a nice feel to it. Everything is pretty neat; the uniforms, the hats and not, the flowers at various angles, the boy on the end seeming to comment to the sitting one.
All interesting and part of several stories around one point.
Nice work,
Thanks,
Wilt

hi Bob

Nice to see your post again. The young intelligent ones are active in their own ways and playing adult is not easy such as Memorial Day event, but training is part of life when you are young to learn about another aspect of physical. This is a good candid shot to show a good discipline of uniforms and you have captured a nice scene at a unique place. Good to share

Nice candid capture Bob, I like their expressions and the general atmosphere of this shot. Well spotted and captured.
Cheers, John.

Hi Bob,

Nice shot of the scouts. I'm sure they understand more than we think. Kids can be wise beyond their years. Very sad that there were so few at the parade. My sons were scouts for years, and I like how you have captured very different ages all united for the same cause.

thanks for sharing, Lisa

Typical kids, and so lucky to not be all stressed out with world problems, I guess thats why it's the 'time of our lives'!! Really a great capture!! Very good expressions and nice color. TFS and have a great day!

A couple do look alert Bob, but I think most of them might have been wondering when was the food coming out!!
And I like seeing them all carrying flowers. That looks good,
Janice

Hi Bob,
Long time no see.
Good note with a great photo. I like the colors and the scenery.
Good job, as always.
greetings,
Joop!

Nicely shown and seen, Bob. I got a fun Scout shot on Memorial Day, too. I'll try to remember to put it up here for you to see. Meanwhile, the expressions and postures are well captured. The note helps a lot for this one, too.

Best to you, Bob!
Jim
