[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another shot taken while on a tour at the Redwood Hills Creamery. They specialize in artisan goat milk cheese and yogurt products. The cheese in this image is called Gravenstein Gold. It is sitting in a curing room (I think for a couple of months) to age and ripen. The room is maintained at certain temperature and humidity levels for the growth of the desired mold for this type of cheese. Their Camellia Cheese was also curing in this room since the two are compatible with each other in this environment. Another cheese, their California Crottin, must be isolated in a curing room of its own.

I don't think I got the focus quite right on this shot, but you can still get the idea. (I almost got left behind while I stole a few seconds to use the camera after the people in the tour moved out of the way...hehe.)

Critiques [Translate]

Say "CHEESE"!

I know how interesting these places can be. I remember visiting a dairy farm in the Netherlands on Texel island (pronounce Tessel) way back in the early 90s. There are so many impressions that stike one's eye (and nose).
I like the sense of repetition, would actually like to see more repetition and the monochrome: chrome/cheesy yellow is a good combo. Out of curiosity, I wonder what it would look like with a border more the tone of the metal or the white under the cheeses for some balance.

Yes, you are always playing catch up with a tour when you make pictures, but I think it is worth it.

You are probably right about the focus - looks like you focused about one cheese in. Well worth the posting and interesting notes. Though to get this kind of picture on the fly. Only get one chance.
