[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture was taken at local horse ranch near my home. I stopped when I noticed this horse and 3 others standing by a fence near the side of the road. The Quarter Horse is best known for showing, racing and rodeos. The quarter horse is not the largest horse standing 14 to 16 hands high.

This was taken with a 55-200mm lens with a Hoya polarized cir. filter. My focal length was 60mm as I was standing 8 feet from the horse. In PP I adjusted the tones slightly, cropped out a fence, added frame then resized. I hope you like it and as always thanks for viewing.

Regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I still don't understand why does it have to be called a Quarter Horse. I'm sorry, I do not know much about horses :D

As for the photo, I would say this is a very classic technique of capturing a horse's portrait. I've seen it done many times and I think this must have been good practice for you. My only concern is that I would really like to be able to see the other half of the horse's face. I noticed that the sunlight is of course not really helpful but it would be nice. I think you could maybe use a lower ISO rating because I could see some noise in the background. The horse however has nicely exposed colour and details.

TFS.

Regards,
Alvin

Hello Kevin,

A nicely composed shot of this relaxed quarter horse. He has had the sun on his back for a bit and is just chilled.
Nice capture on your part!
I like the composition.
