Neon signs in times square. I like the timeless quality of the logos. This was taken in June 2004, but looks as though it could easily be from the fifties.

while they're at it they should put the number of calories in their candy...okay nevermind :|
nice shot, the 'Y' cut off at the bottom sort of bothers me though.

I agree!! Did you use a zoom to compress this shot? Or something wide? Either way, I think you got your point across. Very nice!

Andy,

Very nice! I'm amazed that you managed to cram so many candy ads into one shot.

Also I personally love old brands and ads, and it's easy to see the continuity between many of them and the images shown here. Not to mention, one day fifty years from now THIS will be a collage of "vintage" logos.

Lastly I like the way that this photo evokes the hustle of New York advertising and showmanship, which we usually associate with movie openings or Broadway, but with the substitution of candy brands for all those big name stars. In my mind's eye, without even being aware of it, I was ready for Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie or some current movie image, so these brands were an interesting surprise.

Hi Andy,
Nice shot. Your exposure looks pretty good. And so does your composition, you filled up the canvas well. I recently viewed someone's NYC publicity ad series, and it's amazing how much advertisement is in this city; kind of scary when you think about it. Thanks for sharing this.
And welcome to TL!
Richard
