I'm glad he has a home, I'm not so glad that you amputated his front feet though, Rik... I like the expression on the face of your model. The backdrop is colourful, but suits the dog well as it contrasts nicely with the colours of the fur.
I'd like to make a few suggestions: first of all, the way his behind is sharp and placed directly behind his head in this composition, is not flattering to the dog. I find that when shooting pets -and little children too- it always pays off to descend the lens to their level. Crouching lower, or laying flat on your belly here, would have made a better PoV. Then, though it's colourful, next time remove the collar. The red/yellow in the tags doesn't show anywhere else in this shot, and that tends to draw our eye to them, so it's distracting.
You seem to have used a small aperture (high f/ number) here, as the DoF is quite large. You may want to use a wider aperture, so the back part of the shot would be a bit less sharp.
But hey, that's just my 2 cents...

Rik,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I love dogs, and this one is beautiful. I can't go near the adoption centers as it breaks my heart, and I want to take them all. They just want to be loved to give unconditional love in return.

The photo is nice. I like the pov..you're right up and close. The patterned background is interesting against the beige fur. Give your dog a treat from my dog, "Buddy" (a snoodle). You could even do a really close crop of just his head as it's such a sweet face.

thanks for sharing your home with this pup, Lisa

Hey Rik
More to the story PLEASE??????
We did the same almost 3 years ago saving our Ollie 2 weeks before Katrina hit! So we all would love to hear it!!!

I do agree with Dingo.. Feet are important.. And a lesson I learned from TL... Like kids and any animal we need a lower POV.. can not wait to see the next and a story????
