Evening Catch

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This weekend, a fellow TL member and myself went fishing on Devil's Lake in east-central North Dakota. We got skunked by the fish, but the weather was beautiful.
Here, a friend of mine's son and his grandfather try to catch some evening walleyes from their dock. Fishing is one of those things that humans do which crosses between generations, and here, a young fisherman learns some secrets from a seasoned old-timer.
The scene reminded me of fishing with my dad, something I enjoy just as much today as I did when I was a child.
At this moment, the sun had almost slipped below the horizon, and a thunderstorm had grew up and then dissipated across the lake. The wind was calm, the fire was going, there was venison and steaks on the grill, the beer was cold, and it was still warm enough for t-shirts as we wrapped up the day.
Once they noticed me taking pictures of them, they stopped being so cooperative, especially the 8-year-old on the left. So I think I got lucky with this shot, everything just seemed to work out perfectly.
I hope you enjoy, and I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer season. |
