[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The San Francisco Gay Pride Parade was enormous. Over 1.1 million people from all over the world came to celebrate civil rights and liberties. There was a happiness at this event that was amazing. The people in the parade seemed at ease and totally comfortable.

As the parade passed I took these shots. If I was lucky, I had time to lock on the focus but sometimes as with the shot yesterday, there was not enough time to perfectly set up the shot.

Because this was a celebration of openness, everyone was very comfortable with photographers. Literally thousands of people were taking pictures both from the street and within the parade.

The parade consisted of all segments of the Gay and Lesbian community as well as people from the straight community.

Hi Roger,

Great timing to capture the wonderful emotion shown by these men. It's a photo that really speaks to me. I especially like the lighting of the sun on him. Hope to see many more of this event from you Roger. You're great a getting "the shot"!

Hello Roger

Beautiful shot
great capture and visual!
A good text box.
In São Paulo, the statistics of 5 million, say
but I think 3,5 million were enough.
Congratulations, I like models!

Hello Roger,

I don't know how you got so lucky as to have someone take this pose, but it's great!

Richard

Hello Roger,
Fantastic capture and a superb composition.
Congrats, mb
PS Do you mind if a make a ws?

Hi Roger,
I like the way you captured the moment ... an elated show of raw emotions of the freedom they are enjoying. Very good skin tones and I like the clarity of the overall image. Well captured and composed. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Hi Roger,

I was viewing some of the thumbnails in your photo collection and what strikes me is that you have a knack of capturing moments. Such as this photograph, this must be one of those miss it and you'll never get it back moments, and you've managed to to capture it, all with the correct setting from the camera as well. Great job and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

TFS and for the critique.

Regards,
Alvin

Hi Roger,
The muscular guy's pose reminds me of Tim Robbins gesture from the cover sleeve of the movie 'Shawshank Redemtion'. I also attended the Wash D.C. Gay Pride Parade but did not take my camera - I wish I did. A superb posting with exact metering and mighty fine composition. Happy 4th. Danilo

Good capture - very effective with the sunlight on the main subject. What a shame the other guy was in the shot too, eh?
Rew

Fantastic capture... wow. The intense emotion of the man on the left of the photo contrasts sharply with the more tentative, curious, inquisitive look of the man on the right. Very interesting. -Kelly
