[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken on a hike on the Crater Lake Trail, a 5.5 miles trail that starts at Andrews Lake, at 10,700 ft. The trail ends at Crater Lake, at 11,700 ft. It was a beautiful hike, with some stunning scenery.

For PP:
Shot in Raw. All initial adjustments of exposure, blacks, contrast, vibrancy were done in Adobe Lightroom. Then processed in CS3 for spot removal and levels. Levels initially adjusted globally, then selectively for the sky using a gradient mask. Foreground was lightened some, using curves and a gradient mask.

Enjoy.

this is an incredible view David. The composition is wonderful with the trees, the green grass and the partially snow covered mountains. I like how the sun has lit up the mountains in the BG. Nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

A superb shot, excellent details, the only problem I see is the horizon is crooked...how can I tell? When you cannot "see" a horizon line, you pick the center most vertical object and straighten it. I used the large tree to the left, because it's bigger and probably more accurate! Just love the details here, really nice! I did a WS for you!

Hi David,

The photo looks like painting. Photos from the west are always so striking. I like the welting snow with the streaks of snow still there. It looks like you are up high there.

God Bless,
Rick

Hi David,
Great view! I like the beautiful sense of space in this one! The different plans lead us behind the strong mountains toward the cloudy sky! Excellent colors! I like much!
Bravo! Annie

Hi David...this is a beautiful shot...great sharpness on the mountains and nice tones in the sky.
