When I processed this pic yesterday my first thought was how small this little guy was, and how huge the world must seem to him, or maybe he never goes more than 10 feet from his home and his world is small. I just stared at him in wonder for a while. I guess this is a Blue Bottle Fly.

It reminded me of a song. The first time I heard this song I busted out crying, in the middle of the grocery store. I guess I had "sat-it-out" most of my life. the miracle is today, that I no longer "sit-it-out" but every moment is a miracle to me. I guess I'm easily entertained, or maybe every day is a new day to me. If you would care to hear the song, there is the link and the words.

Here is the song to I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making

Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance (Rolling us along)
I hope you dance (Tell me who)
I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

Great job! A perfect song to go with it. Fantastic detail and color. WOW! I do love this song so much and still cry when I hear it. TFS

Nice sharp macro Linda - interesting composition too. Maybe a reflector or something underneath just to get a little more light on the bottom of the fly. Trouble is a fly being a fly it'll be long gone before you can really do that... And they're not easy to 'stick' into place..
I must try me a few of these insect macros.
Cheers
David

Well well well my friend Linda,

Think of Einstein's theory of relativity in mind and imagine an atom. A molecule is bigger then an atom; molecules makes cells which are larger; cells forms tissues which are grand; tissue makes limbs and limbs form human and human thiks this world is such a large plannet whereas in the galaxy we our plannet is just like a molecule of water in the Atlantic ocean.

A beautiful shot my friend, which is of course provoking mind and thinking. Excellent composition. Well done. Many thanks for sharing this image.

Hi Linda,
a very strong composition here, with a great DOF and colour content. The mix of colours in the BG is really nice too, well done!

Isn't it strange and beautiful sometimes, how our perception of things changes with age? For instance, when being a child everything seems so huge (buildings, cars, objects, etc.), and after years pass we visit places we haven't seen since childhood and everything seems to be so much smaller and at a different scale?
Really great job Linda, wonderfully seen, composed and colored macro! :)
Congrats and best regards,
Diana

Hi Linda,
Beautiful close-up with very nice colors. The vertical positioning of the plant(?) is interesting. Lovely blurred background as well.

Hi Linda
The blue tail fly and the quality of the capture is a given. Like the side lighting that is lighting up his left wing. As well as you POV and composition.
I'm also curious about what he is sitting on. That is a very interesting "something" with great colors and texture.

So, a number of things going on here.
The macro and the perspective it implies are both well done and fun and interesting to ponder.
The technical aspects of the shot are all on the money.
The note is a wonderful addendum to the image and the song is one of those that always makes me wish, and be filled with wonder/envy of those who can, to have the ability to put thoughts into words. :)
Good work all around,
Thanks,
Wilt
