Santa Fe style has an architectural genre all of its own. Very much influenced by the Native American pueblo architecture with the addition of rustic pizazz--incorporating original wooden doors ( often painted a deep blue) along with niches in the wall, interesting lighting, and of course, the curving flowing organic lines of the buildings and walls.
I had moved away from New Mexico for a long time, and on returning, I am happy to renew appreciation of this land and architecture. New Mexico is a gem of an anomoly in the US.

interesting image at first i thought it was a miniature as the large numbers seemed out of proportion to the building, that is what caught my eye. very ecliptic style.tfs

Hi Doc
Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, had a crazy last few weeks
Love the texture and colours you've got in this shot, the contrast between the plant and the terracotta is superb.
Very nicely framed to finish the shot off

Hello Joni,

I saw this shot earlier and thought that it was a photo of a miniature. It looks somewhat unreal with the door and the upper window almost like a stage set. I love this style and have often thought that I would live in New Mexico if I were to ever return to the States.
Good clean shot, nice composition and the chroma is typical of the style. Well depicted.

Kind regards,
Jim

Hello Joni,
a lovely rendition of this well textured shot.
I like the way you positioned the plants.
Very clear image and lovely overall composition.

Hi Joni,
Same as Taos Pueblo architecture with smoothly molded round corners , i like this style, very different than what we're used to in our northern Land. It's nicely presented here with the large white frame complementing wonderfully your subject , it has 'relief' like 3D .
The little plants add a touch of coloring in an otherwise dominant brown composition, i like this ,well done,
Tfs ,Carol

Hello Joni
Sorry for the delay to answer your kind words. I'm now back home.
Of course, this adobe-like construction is quite different and attractive. It appears as an entrance of a doll house!
I like the warm tones enhanced of green bouquets that match the frame color of lamp.
Best regards.
Robert

Hi Joni,

it's excellent shot. I love the way you took it with the centered door making the focal point of this shot. Excellent light gave very vivid colours and pulled out rich textures as well as creating shapes with delicate shadows. Wonderful picture! tfs
