Well, for some time heals all things. If you give it time. But some folks don't. I got sad news yesterday that my cousin's son, a firefighter and war veteran shot his wife and then killed himself. Could not deal with life after war.

If he had taken the TIME to think about the impact that this would have on his children, his family, his hometown, maybe he would not have done this. I don't understand, but then again, I am not an impulsive person. But this is one more instance, in a long line of incidences with my father's family. I'm so tired and heavy hearted today.

So this is my posting for the theme. The watch in the background is my husband's grandfather's pocket watch. The lady in the photo is the mother of a friend of mine. She is 80. This picture was taken at her 80th birthday party, as she greeted an old friend from long ago. I just took a macro of the watch and laid the photo over it. Silke helped me with the colors, my BG was too dark at first. We compromised on lightening it up. Thanks Silke and for all your kind words and prayers!

For some things in my life, time has healed, and somethings need a bit more time. But when it's all over, and the fat lady has sung, I want to be free of Guilt, Shame, Hatred, Revenge, Jealousy and Time!

B-)

Linda

I love the feeling, Linda and this is such an original entry into the theme.
The shoulder of the person hugging the elderly lady is a powerful part of the image to me.

HI Linda
I wish I would have tought about creating something like this. I had all the elements to do it, but the older you get the lazier the mind gets, and I am no spring chicken.

Its a very lovely composition, full of emotions that you convey well.
Dot

Hello Linda,
The image has a powerful emotional impact to viewers like me. That is what photo should be - touch you. Good work. Danilo

A very beautiful contribution Linda. Since I work with seniors I have a real love for the elderly and you have really done a great job on this. A beautiful expression and background. Impressive work! I am so sorry for the pain you must be going through right now. TFS

Hello Linda,

It took a moment before I could make sense of this - your notes helped.
I thought at first that the lady had been gagged, but then it all made sense and took quite a different perspective!
Time is certainly a mediator! Memories soften and blur with time so that what was untenable becomes bearable.

A very thought provoking shot.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Time usually heal the wounds but not always. Maybe you forget something that one day bothered you but still it's in your mind, you just don't think about it anymore.
Great contribution, strong & full of emotions. Well done.

Nice artistic work, Linda - good idea to use a scratched and faded pic of a watch as bg/frame.
Cheers

Hi Linda,

Sensitive concept for the theme.
Well presented.
Hugs,

So sad Linda...
A real emotional note and I'm sorry it makes you feel so sad and tired...
I guess sometimes you just need to take the time to feel sad...
and to make a small work of art to express your feelings.
A good way of "ventilating" your thoughts.

I think this is a real nice contribution for the theme.
Good fitting colors and mood.

Take care dear! remember that the sun is out there somewhere!

Anneke

I'm so sorry, Linda! This is terrible news! I just wish you strength to pass through these difficult times! I wish I had a magic pill to make you feel better, but unfortunately I don't, and all I can do is to send you my best thoughts and wishes.
Your entry to the theme, apart from being excellently executed, it has a great deal of expressiveness. Really well done, Linda!
Diana

hello Linda
how are you?
very emotional, your entry is realy amazing, i like this PP work, sepia is a nice choice. i like the old picture effect at the back on the clock.

Oh Linda, that is so sad. So, so sad. I am sorry for you and for the families involved.
You are right, time does heal, but you have to let it heal in its time. But there is usually an action that you have to make yourself to want it to heal.
The photo is good, it portrays what you are saying - thank you for sharing
Janice

this is a very well done composition.
conversion to b&w brings a lot of drama to
the photo. the hug will melt your heart.
CONGRATULATIONS.

Hi linda, just wanted you to know how much I liked this picture. I love the grainy, streaky aged look to this photo very much.

Im also very sorry to hear about your family member. Its a sad world we live in when things like that happen. I wish the best to you and yours.

hi linda, sad news, i am sorry to hear this, the shot is lovely and heart felt, the black and white really adds a touch of class, take care,
tfs,

Hi Linda,

It really was a tragic incident that I couldn’t help myself to write my comment yesterday. I was really in deep sympathy for the misfortune caused by the cruel trauma of life after war. It's thoughtful.

My feeling got down, deepens by the strong presentation of your great artwork – the photos, the effects and its moody tonality treatment. You know your work is really that good when ones could feel the strong emotions just by a single greatly done image. This artwork should be kept as my favorite and inspiration.

Warm Regards and Have a Great Weekend
Ramdan.

Hi Linda

A beautiful and heart rending capture here.... cant really say more my friend... I am sure you understand.

TFS kind regards Helen

hi linda.
yesterday i was not able to comment for various reasons. your note struck something in me.
the picture is without fault. you have done a magnificent job on the pp.
the pic along with your notes could melt the heart of a demon.
xxx(is this bothering anyone?)
Brian

tomorrow!

I am sorry to hear about the hurt your family is going through. That will be hard on his kids and everyone else who knew them.
The picture is very touching and the meaning is very clear in your photo. The b&w looks great and seems to fit your photo best. The older lady reminds me of my Grandmother. I miss her.

A poignant note Linda and an excellent image, that aging effect works well with the watch. Very good PP work and a different view on time.
David
