[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lady Liberty is the 4th installment of my New York Skyline mini series.

Just came back and posted a WS to clean up a dust spot and some cropping that wasn't complete. That's better now at least in the WS.

PP: RAW image double processed Camera Raw and CS3 to inhance the sky in this evening shot. Used levels to set the white and black points, framed, sharpened, and sized.

Wilipedia: The statue is of a robed woman holding a lit flame, and is made of a sheeting of pure copper, hung on a framework of steel (originally puddled iron) with the exception of the flame of the torch, which is coated in gold leaf (originally made of copper and later altered to hold glass panes.) It stands atop a rectangular stonework pedestal with a foundation in the shape of an irregular eleven-pointed star. The statue is 151 ft (46 m) tall, but with the pedestal and foundation, it is 305 ft (93 m) tall.

Worldwide, the Statue of Liberty is one of the most recognizable icons of the United States,[2] and, more generally, represents liberty and escape from oppression. The Statue of Liberty was, from 1886 until the jet age, often one of the first glimpses of the United States for millions of immigrants after ocean voyages from Europe. Visually, the Statue of Liberty appears to draw inspiration from il Sancarlone or the Colossus of Rhodes.

Ahh, there she is! A grand lady! When I was there, it was raining and foggy and I could barely see her, but I did get ONE good shot, not good enough for TL! This is superb. love your pp work on this! Really nice colors!!

Hi Daniel,what a magnificent gift France gave to America,it is indeed world recognized & still an impressive work of engineering and art.
I like the feeling of scale you have given to its image,the tour craft really helps with that,I also like the white cloudy sky with the hint of the suns rays as a background .
Vibrant image if it were a postcard I would buy it:)

Hello Daniel, I like the presentation of your shot.The light behind the Statue is good, and even though the front of the statue is in shade, you have still managed to show us some good detail.
The boat in the fg gives the viewer a good idea of scale.

Very fine, very dramatic image - the clouds are just he right touch here
I like the squared-off centred composition: gives a sense of great stability

Great shot of Lady Liberty with a good sense of her height compared to the tour boat. The sky gave you a terrific background that day, although a niggly point might be the slice of blue at the very top edge of the image...slightly distracting and could be cropped to avoid drawing the eye there. Good idea to post the workshop fixes...it makes for a helpful teaching exercise...and we can all relate to finding things after we've posted something:) Did you also get to Ellis Island, by any chance?

Although the statue is a bit central,it is a world-class shot Daniel,the boats fits very good.
