A Time to Speak
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I'm feeling experimental for the Friday theme, so I played with this in the latest version of Paint.NET, which I haven't used in awhile. This is built on 4 layers, the main image, a background based on the pattern in the speaker's tie, and the two text layers.
Some of the meetings I attend run well into the evening, but when I start to grouse and grumble to myself, I also recall this is democracy in action. It's not always quick and tidy.
The words and title are those timeless thoughts from Ecclesiastes 3:
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. |

Hi Jim,
How I like the text you used for this theme! Very inspiring!
Tell me, is this an selfportrait? The image is well composed and the PP work so effective. The background with the same pattern of the tie is a funny wink!
Bravo ! Annie
Hello Jim
An interesting posting here with nice and effective pP work. Nice layering and an excellent use of the title.
TFS and for joining in the theme
kind regards Helen
"Voices from a TV-screen
Breathing down your neck...
Don't be surprised, my friend
He knows how to talk
He knows how to collect
The voices he needs so bad
Fatherly he grims to gain
The masses good-will
We've seen it all before
Hailed be his naive attempt
Many trust his lies
But words are cold comfort
When the election day is past
See the glint in his eyes
Dreams of dollars and dimes..."

When I saw Your pic, this rock tune came into my mind immediately. Genius montage, Jim, big congratulations.
