The Pout

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Candid photos of children are a joy to take, especially when they are the children of friends. I was actually headed home when I turned around and caught Alex in this classic pout.
I love my friend's grandchildren (not to mention his kids, grown, obviously!) because they are more interested in what is around them than in the camera I hold. Once I'm around for a bit, they tend to forget about me - and I have so much fun that I've worked out a deal with the parents.
I give them a disk free of charge, but in return, I can enter the photos in contests or in my portfolio. It is a win-win situation, I think.
I wanted to enhance his pout, so I tagged the grass in back of him because I had an absolute horrid background - everything was in sharp focus. Then, I realized I had to consider the distance I used not to mention the lens. For this one, I had the 35mm on it. No special lens, no filters, and no tripod. I enjoy moving around as the children play...
I am going to work on the dof because I spotted (once I uploaded...) that I missed a few spots. Still, this is such a classic pout that I thought, what the heck, I'll post it! The worst that will happen is nobody will respond, but hopefully, people will get a chuckle out of this.
Enjoy your day,
Kathy :-) |
