SEE WORKSHOP FOR VIEW OF OBSCURE LOCATION OF STATUE . . .
Statue: "Innvocation"
Artist: Pepe Ozán
Dedication to Honor the Indigenous Heritage of this Region
When entering the freeway recently, I saw this wonderful statue. In my opinion, it is sadly placed in a very ignoble location underneath many freeway ramps and consequently receives very little notice or attention.
With the aid of Flaminia in Pescara, Italy & Karen in San Francisco, I was able to eliminate all of the peripheral distractions that surround this wonderful indian statue, i.e., some dangling tree branches and a freeway ramp to his side.
I had to lay on the ground to get an angle that eliminated most of the distractions and get the figure more easily seen against the sky. This is actually his backside. I did photograph him from the front, but from that angle I couldn't create a light background. I also cropped and used cloning which was ultimately clearned up by my friends. Finally I enhanced the color of the sky as it was intermittently foggy that day and the sky was somewhat gray.
I hope it's not too small for posting. I noticed that the final editing seemed to reduce its size and I couldn't increase it with throwing it out of focus.
Hope you like it. |

hi Riccardo5000
good composition, good airy feel, nice pov.
regards c.d.
Very nicely done, Richard, we could never have guessed the circumstances you told us about. It could have been on a cay for all I knew...;) Great compo and pov illustrating that not all pictures are best taken 6 feet off the ground (5 for women) ;)
Hi Richard!
My name in the post makes me happy :D
This shot is great, amazing POV!
Ciao!

This looks good Richard.
Very good POV looking right up at the statue and your pp work to take all the distractions from the BG make it look like there's only blue sky behind it. WELL DONE!
