My family, Husband Mike, my two youngest daughers, Malia and Alisha, my sister Julie and I spent 5 days and four nights exploring Washington's northern Cascades. This photo was taken on the Chain Lakes trail in the Mount Baker National Forest. I finally forced myself to use my tripod since I wanted better photos. The peak in the background is Table Mountain which you can hike to the top of also although we didn't go that far.
We visited the park so I could get a photo of Mount Shuksan, one of which is now posted on my Trekearth site. We stayed 2 nights at the Douglas Fir campground and then traveled on the North Cascades Highway loop to spend another night at Winthrop, and then one Hotel night in Leavenworth.
I have to give my husband a medal for putting up with us girls in a small tent and smaller car all the way, over 900+ miles! I'm glad to be home, but already wish I was back hiking this lovely area. |
