Silver Falls State Park was once considered for national park status. The park is about an hour east of Salem and its big draw is the canyon trail. Over a stretch of about 7 miles you walk past 10 different waterfalls. Unfortunately, I was not able to make this hike, but I will the next time I return. Here is a shot from one the more accessible falls - South Falls. A trail allows you to walk down behind these falls as well. I look forward to going back in the near future.

Hi Mike,
Long time no see. I hope you are doing fine. I've certainly missed your wonderful photos. I've seen many photos of park before, and I have to say that I like your version a lot. Your FG interest is stunning and the slow shutter created a wonderful silky effect. The leading line from the ridge to the falls is very powerful.
TFS,
Niek

beautiful photo with great composition :)

hello Mike

Very good shot of waterfall and a fine composition to show the vertical view, giving nice contrast and depth from f/25.

The shutter of 1/3s gives great smooth flow of water. A fine post.

Mike,
Very nice shot of this classic Oregon fall. I recall - fondly - doing this trail back in 2001 - with two SLRs loaded with slide film. It's all captured on Velia and now resides in the back of a cupboard - never to be seen again! ;)

This is just how I remember it.

Regards
Colin

Hi Mike,
Fantastic photo of this waterfall, well positioned subject and the shutter speed you chose was perfect. This resulted an extraordinary exposition of the falls, well done!

This beautifully composed and exposed Mike. Can't wait for you to go back and see the other falls in the future. Danilo
