[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a sunrise shot from Day 2 of my recent 7 week photography road trip. I started my trip in the Bishop Creek Canyon area. One of the more popular destinations in this area is South Lake. It's a good spot for fishing and sunrise photography. I intend to return to this area in early October when Bishop Creek Canyon's many aspens begin their fall color show.

Hello Mike
Very nice photo with good atmosphere. Technically well done and the composition is very artistic. Good control of light and shadow and what a reflection. I like that yellow color and the stump in the foreground is a jewel.
Bravo
Serge

That's a truly wonderful shot. The water serves as a perfect mirror for that beautiful landscape. Great photo!

Hi Mike,
Fabulous landscape, astonidhing environement. The evening light conditions make awsome colours. The composition is great with the lake, the snowy mountains, the vegetation and the reflection. They all work well together. Fantastic shot, bravo!

Hello Mike,
Wow, what a beautiful view of this landscape. The shade on the mountains gives almost a natural black and white to the picture and the light on the top of the mountains gives the warm color touch enhanced by the reflection. Very well done. Regards,
Valérie

Hi Mike,

Super shot, lovely exposure and terrific foreground, you must have filled a load of flash cards. 7 weeks I am really jealous.

Hi Mike,
It looks like those mountains are on fire. I am always impressed about the beauty of the light in the morning. I feel that it is much better than the evening light. Your composition is stunning. Especially the tree trunk in the FG and the contrast between the dark and light.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Mike,

Amazing light on those mountains and the same reflecting in the water.
Love that you could include that tree trunk in the FG.

Hello Mike ,

I feel the composition is more complete here.

A lovely shot despite you were down the crater and in the shaded zone. Superb light management.

I got here via your link on the more recent shot. I like the trunk and near-shore in the foreground, it adds a strong feeling of depth to the image. On the other hand, there is a juxtaposition of the top of the trunk with the mirror image of the sunlit horizon that maybe could have been avoided.
An excellent landscape anyway.
Regards,
Tibi

Great shot! The trunk really adds an interesting foreground element to the image. The colors work really well together and seeing the rocks through the water adds a nice touch. I really enjoy seeing your shots with the Tokina 12-24. TFS

this little distraction in foreground is a plus to the composition, totally symetrical composition are often boring, South Lake Reflection II is nice, but I prefer this one for sure
