Scavenger Hunt entry for the item -- Old vs. New.
This was taken from a third floor balcony in Duncan Hall, which was built on the Rice University campus in 1996. The cranes which dominate the sky space, are constructing a new building in Houston's Medical Center. Between Duncan Hall and the cranes are Herzstein Hall (the Physics and Astronomy Building), which was constructed in 1914, and some live oak trees, which were probably around before Herzstein Hall was built.
The image is presented as taken. The levels were adjusted to brighten it a little, then it was sharpened, resized, and uploaded. |
