***This is for my friend I saw last night, who is going through a tough time (we've been friends 42 years) Remember, the darkness can never take over the light!

Another film shot from last century (I love saying that!) I took this with my old Minolta SRT-101 and my old Tokina wide angle lens. I already was using BW film, and had the pictures in my drawer for years, so I just converted to sepia, after scanning in. I added a vignetting and frame for fun. I am TOTALLY guessing my F-stop, it's been close to 10 years..but I was such a creature of habit, I kept my camera mostly o 1/125 or 1/250 in bright sun and let the meter determine my fstop.

Looks like we have a hurricane coming, and we probably will get lots of weather from it. My daughter is going to try to come back into town this weekend, but she may have to wait...not sure... I'm scared for her, so say a little word to whatever you believe is in charge here on this blue ball.

Have a great day!
Linda

Hi Linda

Wonderful, symmetrical reflections, with an attractive, warm sepia tone. A tranquil scene. Tfs!

Very good composition and once again I enjoy the mood. Dumb question but I'm wondering how you got the sky to look like this, I really like it. Nicely frmaed. TFS and I'm for sure praying for you people there.

Hi Linda,
Beautiful place,good sepia,well done,congratulation.

Nothing can beat old film LOL. Btw good result from scan. I like giving vignet effect sometime. And one way I find really smooth is by selecting the area you want to be brighter with lasso tool. By setting feather to 250 for picture more than 3000pixel, inverse the selecting area. Darken it to give vignet effect by curve. Usually the result is really smooth.

Btw hope your daughter is doing OK and made it home safely.

Yan

Hi Linda,
I love this older picture. The sepia color is very nice and the reflections of the trees and boat dock on the water look wonderful. I wish you well with the hurricane.
Regards,
Kevin

hi linda, neat old fashioned looing photo, the scan came out pretty good, i hope the weather is ok for you, i couldnt imagine having hurricane warnings! freaky!
take care,
scott

Hi Linda,
I like using the term 'last century' also. I too was born in '59 and it seems like what I used to imaging the 19th century was like. But we still look much better than 49er's did in 1959 that's for sure.
I really liked this shot because of the composition which is the guage I use to click on an image, the sepia is effective.
I hope your daughter gets home safely.
I also want to say, you've been an inspiration her on the site these day. Terrific positive attitude!
Be well,
Jim (Points off)

Impressive and memorable shot,Well capture in neat composition with well effect on relection,Nice effect form PP work.Good work,TFS.

Hi Linda,
A fine peaceful image, like the sepia tone and it breaths some a certain old mood. Like the low contrast and fien frame.
Big hug from Zürich and I'm NOT coming home yet :-)

Hi Linda,
"Another film shot from last century (I love saying that!)" You make me smile! Imagine I was born in the first part of last century. (However, I am not sure that I love saying that!) LOL!
This is very moody scene very suitable in sepia tones. Good work again from your old files!
My compliments! Annie

Hello Linda

A lovely shot here my friend. Very pretty view with nice sepia tones and neat framing. The weather is just mad everywhere at the moment, i will say a prayer for you and your loved ones.

Hi Linda,
And I love reading it - another film shot from last century - makes me giggling. We have a funny similar phrase for the same meaning - don't know how to translate them to English :)

Love the mood of the shot, and it surely relates to a kind of emotion you have had. The composition worked well.

Regards,
Ramdan.
PS: She'll be fine, I am praying for.

Boa tarde Linda
Wonderful capture and lovely sepia tones.Great composition and wonderful reflections.Thanks.
Have a wonderful upcoming weekend!
Friendly greetings
J.Diogo

A good quality scan Linda and the conversion to sepia well done. All it is missing for the really old look is the addition of some scratches and creases. Nicely done,
David

Beautiful sepia tones.
