| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
One of the quietest places that I know of near San Francisco, Butano State Park. I go there to try to forget how disturbing the larger world is . . . how stressed life becomes . . . and I
find silence, scent of redwoods, a soft flowing stream . . . a taste, albeit shortlived, of peace.
I wish I could take each troubled person on the planet to such a place. Maybe there would be fewer acts of violence after such an experience.
Technically, I always find it challenging to photograph images with such sharp contrasts in light. Guess I got lucky this time. I didn't do too much to this image. |

Hi Richard,
This is wonderful, your note really paints the same picture as your photo - very tranquil indeed.
It seems I can smell the wood and hear the stream.
And yes, we have places like this not far from here. The contrast in light is managed perfectly and is absolutely necessary to create this kind of atmosphere.

This kind of beautiful scene reminds me that there is always light somewhere in the darkness:) Fantastic mood and meaning, and you captured it well. Good shot!
