[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Driving back from taking sunrise photos one morning, I stopped off in town to get some coffee. From the parking lot just off the Bay I noticed this pier and and the soft colors.

This is a merge of three different exposures, blended into an HDR in Photomatix.

>>>>> Wikipedia

Bodega Bay is a shallow, rocky inlet of the Pacific Ocean on the coast of northern California in the United States. It is approximately 5 mi (8 km) across and is located approximately 40 mi (60 km) northwest of San Francisco and 20 mi (32 km) west of Santa Rosa. The bay straddles the boundary between Sonoma County to the north and Marin County to the south.

nice colours, interesting composition

Good morning Vincent:)

Beautiful picture, I like this morning light here, the reflections are incredible - it's hard to say where's 'a border' between a real world and reflected one.
Beautiful colors.
Very impressive work.
Have a nice day,
Iza

Wonderful morning mood and great structural lines combined with the natural setting, all in an excellent composition. I like the contrasts and the reflections. The water looks so undisturbed. The HDR is not overdone, and enhances the delicate light quality. Superb!

Ciao Vincent, my today neighbour, fantastic reflections, lovely view of a beautiful place with wonderful light and colors, bravo, ciao Silvio

Hi Vincent.
Lovely tones and mood in this photo. I love the clear reflections. This is very well composed shot.

Hi Vincent,
I like the way you composed this shot. The detail in the pier is very good. The reflections of the pier on the water look great as do the hills in the BG. Nice blended HDR with cool colors. Nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Vincent,

Beautiful place and indeed realy beautiful soft colours. The contrast between the pier and it's environment is very nice.I realy like the composition.
Well done!

TFS Greetings Simone

hi vincent, kind of a neat shot here, seems to be exposed exactly how you probably saw it,
i am always impressed how big the bay is, vancouver is similar to sf in many ways but our inlet doesnt come close to the size of the bay,

scott

The subtle and soothing morning hues are a highlight in this pier composition Vincent. This is the kind of HDR rendition I prefer as the image does not look overly 'photomatixed'. Best regards, Danilo

Excellent merging on this Vincent. You have achieved a superb effect. The long exposure is pretty impressive. I just love the reflections and how they blend into the water. Once again you have produced an excellent quality image.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Hi Vincent,

Three exposures? I've not attempted this feat yet. It's a very peaceful, relaxing setting. Perfectly suited for that cup of coffee. I especially like the weathered boards.

Another great shot from CA! thanks, Lisa

Excellent capture Vincent. Well composed. The lighting is stunning and the exposure is perfect.

The subdued colors add much to the atmosphere.

TFS,
David

Hi Vincent,
I could tell that it was a HDR. Was it really needed? It looks like the overall dynamic range isn't that big. Its probably best noticable in the shadow area of the pier. I like the mood in the photo caused by the purple-ish light. I do feel that a bit of empty space on the left would have been nice. If it was possible.
TFS,
Niek
