I think most people come to Martha's Vineyard for the beauty of its landscapes and its charm. In the summer, the island is teeming with flowers, wildlife is plentiful, and the beaches are inhabited by a different sort of wildlife (tourists). I usually take quite a few pictures of birds and flowers and brightly-painted cottages while I'm on the island, but I also like to wander down side streets to see what I can find.
This door was behind a restaurant in downtown Edgartown, somewhere near Main and Water Streets. I tried to find it again when I was on the island for a few days last month, but couldn't. Maybe the owner had repaired or replaced it. I wanted to take a picture of it with my Canon 10D, but it was not to be, Instead, here is the original I took with a Casio QV-2000UX camera. Low resolution, but it did the job well enough I think.
The only post-processing I did was to use Photoshop's Skew tool to straighten the door a little, adjust the levels, sharpen and upload. |
