More Chihuly Blown Glass Exhibit at the de Young Museum, San Francisco. This is the ceiling of one of the rooms at the exhibit which is made of clear glass. On top of the glass are hundreds of multi-colored blown glass pieces through which light is shown, which creates the wonderful refractions on the wall. I like it without the "explanation" and as a sort abstract or surreal experience in color. In the end, that's probably what the creators were striving to do, so I guess it worked!
I amazes me, frankly, that considering how many thousands of fragile pieces of glass, they are able to transport this exhibit. There are literatlly thousands of pieces and they have to be positioned for each showing . . . then there's the EXPENSE! Eeee gads!
Can't remember what I did to the image, but I hope you like it.
