Flowering in the Light
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This was shot in my office. Recently, I had noticed how the afternoon light, passing through the blinds, made for some interesting images. This follows that same theme of the effects of shadows on objects. This is a set of flowers that started blooming at the end of a stalk that emanated from a succulent I have planted by my window. It's been blooming now for several months, but these are the very first blooms it displayed.
I used the zoom to focus as strongly on the blooms as possible (maybe a little too much, the farthest flowers are fuzzy), then I sharpened the image, resized it, and uploaded it.
Here's a different view, posted the next day. |

Hi Michael,
Very nice macro. The flowers are sharp and vivid, and are nicely seperated from the darker background colors. The light from the blinds are really cool. The striping at the upper left corner is actually what I think is the most striking area.
Well seen.

Refreshing and simple atmosphere. Nice shot. I wonder if you cropped the right side just past the flowers would add or not? I like it.

I saw this late last night and was just too tired to write another word, but it caught my eye. Nice flower/shadows shot. I like the way you caught the delicate little blossoms, their nice color and the light on them and the leaves. The composition is spare and minimalist, giving a Japanese/Oriental feel. very well done. thanks.
