You can't really get all of Bryce Canyon in one shot. You either have to try your best at a panorama or pick and choose particular locations within the canyon. I really anticipated shooting at Bryce but once I got there, I found the light to be challenging. This image was taken 20 minutes after this one. The sun had just revealed itself casting some nice warm light on the hoodoos in the distance.

No PP work was done on this shot except re-size and sharpening for web.

Hi Mike,
Fantastic canyon, fantastic scenery. Awsome light and colours. The naure did a wonder here with these formations. Well captured landscape, stunning POV. Simply incredible, great shot! TFS.
Best wishes,
Kristof

Such an amazing place, and a superb capture of the grand view.
I like that you included the top row of trees, and the lookout point near the top middle.
Great light and color for sure.
I think a wee bit of processing and it would look like a shot from Outdoor Photographer.
Nice work Mike!

Ahhhh the Hoodoos dancing in the morning light - the bands of color are sensational. Really help to have been there - adds to appreciation of the challenge you faced. Imposible to get it all.

Dad

A perfect title for this well composed shot Mike.
The light on the top of the cliffs is bright but not too bright to be burnt out.You have captured some lovely sharp details, well done.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Mike,

It's been a while since I've had the time to browse around people's galleries. I peeked at this one from the thumbnails merely because of the memories Bryce Canyon has provided me with. I've never been there, but in the basement of my childhood home, the previous owners had plastered a mural from there and it served as an inspiration in my childhood mind to travel beyond what a 6 year old generally see. I also liked the impressions that the rock formations make. They seemed like people or soldiers lined up in rows. Enough of memory lane...

The photo is beautifully composed. Clear and colorful in the consistent red/brown hue. I can imagine that PP was not necessary.
Well done!
Jim
