Another notable stop along the great Scenic Byway 12 in Southern Utah was the hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls. Seen here in a detail shot of the second tier to emphasize the flow of the water and colors that exude from the rock in this area.

I had wanted to get to the Falls in the early morning hours to photograph it before the Sun hit. Unfortunately, the hike took a lot longer than I had expected so, I had to use an ND and Circular Polarizer to keep the glare down. Not ideal, but it was a fun adventure to get there.

Maybe not ideal in your eyes, Vincent, but I really love the look of this. The way the lines all come together and the water flow is superb. Lots of depth and really a great overall tone to it. Excellent.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Beautiful shot Vincent - the 1 second exposure, although relatively short, works wonders with the waterfall.
The green moss -or algae - really stands out strongly near the bottom.. And as usual the composition is very good.

Interesting composition for this one, without context or sense of scale to inform the eye...almost becoming a natural abstract. I like how the rugged rock forms are contrasted by the soft flowing water, and how the horizontal and vertical streaks create patterns. Good light, clarity, exposure. Well done.

Gorgeous water flow, and details and colors of the rocks are terrific. A lovely isolation of the fall's second tier. Greetings Vincent. Danilo

Beautiful composition and colours - really good use of the filters to step down the light to create that classic silky water look.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hello-hello, there! :)
Spectacular shot, Vincent! I'd say this is another Vincent classic to be added to your absolutely wonderful gallery! I'm really very glad to be back! Superb composition, the layered texture and colors of the rock blend perfectly with the smoothness of the waterfall, altogether, a mesmerizing view!
Congrats & tfs!
Salutations,
Diana. :)

Hi Vincent, Your colours are well exposed and make a fantastic b/g for the milky effect of the water. Your choice of ND and polarizer have worked well. Very beautiful! Thank you too for your notes.

Hi Vincent
I love the way that water creates this abstract image just like a painting rather than a foto.
Very impressive for sure

Hi Vincent, fantastic waterfall, splendid exposure, great DOF, beautiful light and colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

WOW! I have missed a few days of your gallery! This is really nice Vincent! What I like is the curve of the rock, as the water flows down it! Very nice work! I'll try to catch up soon!
B-)
Linda

Very nice Vincent. Perfect shutter speed, with a nice blurring of the water yet not too slow as to wipe out all detail.

Well composed, with nice colors.

David
