I sort of got stuck on how to proceed with the story. Then, unexpectedly, I got an e-mail from Kat last week-end...

She had this idea of a meeting between the mystery lady (with the tattoos) and Godin, to reveal the secret connection between the two characters. And she wanted to know how I felt about that. Well, this idea came like manna from heaven ;o).

So Kat got really busy last Monday, taking self-portraits in her Mustang. She sent me a selection of those, from which we chose the one to serve as the base photo. Then it was my turn to get creative. I needed some self-portraits taken from about the same angle than Kat's, with a pose that could fit in with hers. I can tell you, that's not easy to do. I felt like an actor that works with blue screen technique.

When that was done, the fun part began: extracting Godin from the pictures and mounting him next to the mystery lady. I used two self-portraits, one for the body and one for the hand with the pointing finger.

I don't know if this kind of co-operation between TL members has happened before. One of the issues that arose was who would post the result. Kat was kind enough to let me have that honour. Thank you, Kat!

Tech talk

Kat's picture: Olympus E10, f3.6, 1/80, ISO-80.
My pictures: Olympus C-450Z, f3.5, 1/50, ISO-50.

Comic book PP: copied everything to a new layer, desaturated the top layer to 65 %, applied filters 'poster edges' and 'crisscross: pencil', stamped a heart logo and a lizard tattoo on the mystery lady, and finally made the layer transparent for 35 %.

Then added the text, which Kat had already approved.

Well, a very good idea! And well carried out too, by the two of you!
I think you did a perfect job Frank, in finding the right pose to be able to fit yourself in the car. I am heavily impressed!

And actually, yes, a cooperation between TL members has been done before. Kathleen is able to acknowledge this... But for personal reasons it was not uploaded :)

Hey frank, a really creative result. I like the idea of remote cooperation, Treklens seems to remove borders and oceans. And, how you BOTH got this very nice result, very good repro work putting yourself in a position where you could be in the car next to Kat. Even the small mirrors are done..is this really PP work?
It must have been odd for Kat too, shooting selfportraits in a empty car talking to nobody. And WOW, what a great car she has, how great it would be to cruise around in a car like that. And with such a great lady next to you...
See you again Frank, Richard

Wow! Frank (and Kat), this really is awesome.
It's amazing that you both got together to create this scene. I do't know what else to say. I'm tired today. Well done.

Great PP work, Frank! If I hadn't read your note, I would think you'd cross the Atlantic! Excellent!
PS: Good job Kat, too!

Well done! B

It's fun to see the personage reunited like this! It bring more real aspect to the story! Good production!

Fantastic international cooperation resulting in a very unusual and amazing post! I must say that I am impressed! That is what I call partnership and an effort well succeeded! I can see where this took a real conscious effort. Thanks for sharing, Kat and Frank!

Great imagination - a job well done!

Well put together you two, Kat and Frank. Excellent pp work and you've kept the story going too. Nice one.

What a scream. I recognised you both immediately and went back over Kat's recent photos to see if she had an action shot with the Mustang that I had asked for. She didn't, but I realise that instead you have together cooked up this. What a beauty. And no, I don't think this kind of cooperation has been tried before. I can remeber including Eagle78 in some involuntary cooperation and then later he did the same with certain others, but this is real teamwork. The work you did is superb, and the problem with taking this further is that it will be difficult to match the high standards set by you two.

Good initiative Frank (and Kathleen)
I wonder what the 'secret' will be... so far it's still passing the hot potatoe, even transatlantic :-)
The merging is well done, the tones are corresponding, no marks on the edges... congratulations.
If the image represents a conversation, wouldn't this be reflected in the text ?
The 'logo' which was red or pinkish suddenly shifted colour, and the omnipresent daisy has vanished.
Thx for the continuation.

A great shot Frank bravo! The PP work is seemless and I'm sure their was a lot of it. Hat's off to you both.

Great job Kat and Frank....so wonderful that you can work together to create this from halfway across the world. Great picture...wonderful pp work and text.

Hi Frank, this is this nice story going, and I remark you are in a very good company. Have you remarked she is unijambist :))) Suspicious...
Jean Michel

ihihih how clever! what a great collaboration between you two :-)) i missed this one during my recent break but i'm glad i found it now.. wow you must have worked so hard on this! it looks wonderful and you'd never know the both of you weren't in the car together! i'm really impressed ^_^

great job Frank (and Kat too!)

Ayda

Hi Frank & Kat, this is a very interesting projet and colaboration across the miles to produce a photo, both of you are too much. Great idea and great job I am inpressed. I would like to see the photo before you cartoonized (is that a word) it. Your having too much fun.
Jim

Wow, you look just like you were sitting there even though you were in Belgium at the time! Amazing PP work, Frank, very creative. TFS!

Alli

I am in admiration of you both for the difficulty in achieving such a perfect result. Great PP work. Top marks, magnifique. TFS, Paul.
