[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the four days I spent in the John Day Fossil Beds I decided to venture through the rear sections of the Painted hills Unit on foot. During the Trek meet in April, pboehringer and I had also walked through this area and discovered a hidden gem of a valley. What you see here is an angle that we did not discover on that first excursion. Spread out in many locations are pieces of petrified wood, some dating back to the first Redwoods in Oregon.

Hi steve

Another superb capture of the painted hills of Oregon. Superb color contrasts, between the yellow red earth, and the blue sky. Good sharpness, & superb light contrasts & levels. Tfs!

Hello Steve, what a beautiful presentation of this amazing land.Amazing discovery by you..thanks for sharing.
Nice contrast and sharpness.
Beautiful, bright colors.
Simple but very marvellous post!

All the best,
cheers,
Shubhi:)

Hello Steven. So, you are on TL also!
This one jumped out of the page, with its bright colours and deep blue sky. A very pleasing formation of slopes and valleys, beautifully exposed and rich in colour. Seems simple, but is quite dazzling. They gave this area a fitting name, didn't they. Well done.
Best wishes for the coming year.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Steve, Good horizontal split between sky and land. The colours around here are remarkable. Good to see this remote spot through your lens. TFS. Murray.
