[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Most of California is suffering from a drought and it's been disappointing that many of the falls and creeks that flow down through the Mount Tamalpais watershed are still at a trickle. So luckily last week we got a little winter weather and some of that white water has been showing itself.

This is an image from one of my absolute favorite hikes in the bay area - Cataract Creek trail. It's about 1.6 mile trek mostly up hill that parallels Cataract Creek most of the way up. The result is gorgeous lush greens surrounding numerous mini falls and of course, cataracts.

As for the photo...I know this isn't super original by any means but I like it as the spot is slightly off trail and still peaceful on a weekend day when the trail is packed. I've taken some images from here before and feedback has been about 50/50 in regards to the fallen log cutting the falls. I'm wondering what you all think?

I like the fallen tree here Mike and the way it leads the eye up and to the top of the falls.
The quality and color is really superb.
I also really like the simplicity of the foreground and the effect of the long exposure.
I can see why you are attracted to this spot.
I must try it some day!

Hi Mike,
What a delightful waterfall. Lovely contrast of white with that cooling mossy green.

Hello Mike,
Beautiful crisp nature. I guess you used the polariser very effectively and most of all, very well seen. I also like the lines of bubbles on the water surface. TFS.

This is a magical spot that would be easy to return to. The shutter timing is spot on for the waterfall and the FG creek. Color saturation of the moss on the log and rocks is spot on. That new tripod and ball head is keep the camera rock solid.
