[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot at the San Francisco zoo recently, but was a bit frustrated with the fence and other visual complications...they distracted from the face-to-face communication between the baby giraffe and its mother that was so touching to witness. So, I took some Photoshop liberties that hopefully enhance the moment.

PP: standard RAW adjustments, cropped a bit for a tighter composition, added soft omni light on the faces of the giraffes, used artistic filters (watercolor and cutout) to stylize and dramatize the mood, added border, resized, jpegged.

Once I spotted the thumbnail on the galery page I was pretty sure this had to be yours. Combine the PP work with the current zoo pic and there you are.

The colors of the animals really lent itself to your goal Frame blends in nicely with the tones. Bravo.

Hi Karen,

Your experiments are always interesting to see. I only wish I had more time to play around with my images the way you do. These days, I've got no time for shooting anything that isn't within the boundaries of my office. Oh well, I won't bore the membership with photos of the dust bunnies under my desk...
This is a touching image of the mother/baby giraffes, good subject.

Be well,
Jim

Hi Karen: I love the PP work done here with the light accenting the mother and baby Giraffe..... I also like the lines in the composition and the squares in the fence and the spots on the giraffes..... Wonderful work Karen ... thanks....Roman:0)

TFS Greetings Simone
