This is an HDR shot of a huge oak tree on Lake Travis, which is suffering from extreme drought. I saw the sun behind it and the tree seemed to GLOW! Whenever things like this are seen I think of GOD.

Yesterday I was attacked by someone who told me I was spreading "catholicism"...?????? I'm not catholic! HAHAHA!

No where in ANY of my posts do I say anything about a "religion" a doctrine, a law, a rule, a commandment. I leave that interpretation up to you. Your God is ....Fill in blank _______ On my intro page I have a favorite verse and I do believe I can put whatever I like on my intro page, within TOS.

You can choose to believe whatever you want, or NOT believe. BUT you have that RIGHT.

Hate and persecution are born of ignorance. Today I see "GOD" everywhere.... "good orderly direction" In the trees, in the sky, in other people. Most religions of the world have a few fundamental similarities. Love, Peace, Praise, Joy....don't steal, lie, cheat, kill. But it's when "religion": the doctrines, dogma, rules, laws, methods are dragged into things that people fight.

So feel free to enjoy your life as you choose. Leave me alone and I will leave you alone. Turn your focus to yourself, I will do the same. Don't attack me out of your hate for yourself. I just get more and more convicted in my belief that I need a GOD in this world today. And I expect to be persecuted for it. But not on the pages on TL. If you don't like my belief system you have a right NOT to visit my page or send me emails. FREEDOM! LOVE! POWER! All that is good.
FROG: Fully Rely on God.

hello Linda,

this is a beautiful shot! the shadows and the colors and your note! excellent from all aspects! I simply love it!

regards :)

Hi Linda,
I appreciate the note as a personal ideal. I also like the tech notes included. Who could see a tree with that kind of vision other than an artist. Don't worry about proving yourself and your ideals, that is done in your art. Great shot and vision.
Regards, Johnny

Hi Linda,
Breath taking shot. Nice wide angle to cover the entire shadow too. I agree with you, when you see such beautiful things in nature, you are in awe of God's creations.
TFS,

Subashini

Hi Linda,

The light coming through the tree is indeed a wonderful sight but if you want to see things of god just look to nature. The colours are brilliant and as usual your details fabulous.

Most people that believe in god show compassion and love, as you do, as soon as you bring religion the I will show you grief and strife war and death. I like your attitude about your belief you do not shove down our throats so should not have anyone else put it down your own.

Always supportive.

Regards
Jon

This is a beautiful old tree Linda :-)
I like the sun behind it and what also makes this an inviting shot are the grills awaiting to be used! The water is peaceful...I'm ready to holiday there!! A glass of vino, a lounge chair, flip flops and I'm there girl! Hey even a kayak works!!!

Linda,

I don't know much about God, Catholicism or what, but something or someone or somehow shows you the things you photograph, helps you to portray their beauty in a way that others appreciate. Call it God, call it Ali, call it Ka, call it anything you want.

I think this is a beautiful scene, who's to say where the light comes from - just agree that it is beautiful or give some constructive criticism on how it could be more beautiful. That's why we are here.

Nice photograph. I like the use of the sun as a back light. Excellent job, including the note.

Have an exceptional evening!

Beautiful picture Linda and regarding the criticism leveled at you yesterday I would refer you to Psalm 1:1-3. Your pictures an notes are always refreshing showing that your faith provides you with a high quality and enjoyment of life. It is these qualities I appreciate about your posts.
Keep posting your shots and comments. They are always appreciated.
warm regards
David

Interesting with this kind of light Linda:):)
Oaks are great trees and they can stay alive for more that 1000 years!!!
You are right in your note - if somebody like it, this can be whatever God... even ancient one like Ra.
Good capture, I would only take it out these garbage containers on the left:)

Haha, I am also a FROG!! :)

Hi Linda, a good photo, but I miss some pieces of the big tree on both sides. I love the sunlight through the branches of the tree. I love to see the love of God through you note!! :)
I always say; you don't have to believe in God to give critiques to my photo, but God has given me the ability to make and love making photo's, so you can see that through me, my notes and my pictures. It's who I am and who I want to be! I am just a FROG...:)
