Shifting Sands...Shifting Trail

Just returned from a 3 day trip down to Death Valley National Park in California. It's been years since I've visited this amazing park and the first time with an aim to capture great light. This shot was taken on my last night in the park at the Mesquite Dunes. Sunrise or Sunset are great times to be at the dunes as they just explode with great color. Unfortunately with great beauty comes sacrifice. While setting up for this shot the winds were blowing pretty hard carrying leg stinging, tripod clogging sand! No pain, no gain.

Fantastic perspective! The two people at the end of the shot has provided with sense of scale.
VERY VERY GOOD PHOTO!
Hi Mike, great shot. This reminds me of the shot by "zchizzerz" which was posted yesterday. Love the shaded and lit sides of the dune, and the line that separates them. Great observation.

Hi Mike
Didn't take long to get one up. The image gives me the impression that you were some how above the sand. The people in the BG are effective in providing a proportion to the scene. There are a few spots on the "edge" of the dune that I can see that the sand was blowing. Impressive
