[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Spring has sprung in the hills near Keene, Ca. On this day, dark clouds were moving east across this valley while the sun peaked out from the west. I underexposed the shot in order to enhance the mood.

I'm unsure about the composition in this shot. I'm wondering if the clear division between foreground and background is too strong. What do you think?

PP: Levels, contrast, and selective sharpening of the foreground and mid ground trees, no sharpening to sky

hi mike i think this great, with an excellent composition and fine details too, i would of used a 1 stop grad filter that would of just darkened the sky a little and lightened the foreground, still i really like this alot,
thanks,
scott

Hi Mike,IMHO I think the lighter foreground blending in darker shades gradually through to the background is balanced perfectly,The light & dark hues give a definate mood to the scene. At first viewing I thought this was a combination of two images, but after reading your notes I see I was wrong in my assumption,Great POV,the trees really add to the impact.

What can I say more ?
Just lovely, just pretty ... Spring is there.

you not be initial, you know essential base and you can manage your reflex camera.

Congratulations
My best regards

Great lines and colors in this photo. Both features create a very calm feeling. TFS

superb shot. don't worry, be happy. Janos

Bonsoir Mike
Cette photo est très intéressante, à plusieurs égards : règle des tiers, courbes, contrastes de couleurs. L'oeil traverse la photo pour aller rejoindre ces trois arbres, puis s'échappe dans une ambiance sombre.
J'aime beaucoup !
Cordialement,
Antoine.

don't laugh at me but (as a sincere compliment) this reminds me of the beginning of The Wizard of Oz....one of my favorites!! The stormy sky and the beautiful fields....everything works here. The flowers! tfs

Mike
Belle composition aux superbes couleurs. J'aime le contraste entre ce paysage fleuri et le ciel chargé de nuages sombres.
Amicalement
