[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This building was once a bank barn* on a dairy farm in Harford County, Maryland. Tax assessments from 1814 include a barn on the property of Jerusalem Mill Village, but the date-stone on the building indicates it was built in 1844. Regardless of which date is correct, the fact that these 2 ft. thick stone walls still stand is a testament to the craftsmanship of the stone masons of that era. The building is currently being reconstructed on these same old walls.

*From Wikipedia: A bank barn or banked barn is a style of barn noted for its accessibility, at ground level, on two separate levels. Often built into the side of a hill, or bank, both the upper and the lower floors area could be accessed from ground level, one area at the top of the hill and the other at the bottom.

Great lighting and composition of this old bank barn. Amazing it's still standing after all of these years, better workmanship back in those days I guess, lol. Nice work.

TFS,
Scott.

HI Werner
This will look great once finished.
Its a fine looking architecture, the sun highlighting the vines while the shadows of the wall looks great, all with good sharpness.

Nice pov and composition. I feel it could have been even better if the light had been on the right hand side of the building. I wuld also have cloned out the mark upper left. Other than that however an interesting shot well captured Good job
warm regards
David

Ciao Werner

A beautiful architecture, all made of stones.
Despite the abandonment, she offers beauty
in your building. add dry trees
certain details in the house.
Pretty light with good POV
and composition!
Greetings,

Sergio

Hi Werner,
You made a nice composition of this old barn, sharp and detailed picture of this building. Light is well managed on most areas of the photo, but the top part (the sky) is overexposed and washed out. I think next time you should try to use a circular polarizer, it really helps. I didn't you it eralier either, but seeing the result I could get, that is one of my basic accesory to my camera.
Good luck and TFS!
Best regards,
Kristof

What a sturdy looking walls - and beautiful stonework. I'd love to see the stones up close. You must go back when the reconstruction is finished to show us what it looks like.
