Socorro, New Mexico
April 2009
A bright spring afternoon in Socorro, a small town in central New Mexico. It was a strange day. A crazy lady was driving around town honking continuously, winding through the streets while every cop and sheriff Socorro could muster was weaving through the streets trying to find her. (How do you *not find* someone driving around honking?)
These two pups were oblivious to the excitement, and just quietly waited for their Mom to come out from the Capitol Bar. Earlier it was just the older dog alone waiting, but soon she was joined by this puppy ("Banana Barela" according to the tag). I love the young dog/old dog contrast: interested vs. interested in napping.
There are some nice workshops suggested for the older dog photo.

This is the second contemporary shot I've posted on TL. It was using my new Canon DSLR. I tried some of the tips suggested on the earlier workshops and think it helped a bit.
As always, workshops welcome should you have ideas on improving this print.

I like the angle of the shot and the intent, I find the brightness of the white to be much too strong however. TFS Maybe an ND Filter would help. I use one from Cokin.
