[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This type of portrait is challenging for me. This man was standing in a crowd and I thought he would be a good subject. I asked if I could take his picture and he said yes...but the light wasn't right so I asked if he could move into a better position...my aperture was 2.2 which was lower than it should have been but I needed to finish the picture..the whole thing took about 2 minutes. I didn't feel I had more time without irritating this man who I didn't know.

The conversion was done using the channel mixer with mostly the blue channel which gives deep richness to his dark features.

Hi Roger,
Well, despite the conditions that you write abour in your note, you managed to take a pretty good portrait shot that are accustomed to. You captured the interesting features of this man very well, the result is a sharp photo with great details. TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof

Olá Roger,
I agree with Kristof, sayng that the soft smile from this man is an aspect distinctif of this portrait. Very good light.
Regards,
Raimundo

Another really great portrait!! Very nice lighting and contrast. TFS

The lighter BG is nice here Roger. Sometimes street photography is more "flexible" than studio. You work with what ya got! I think this is super. There is enough ambient light on his face to keep the focus on his face! Nice work!

HI Roger
YOu captured a good expression, I like how you managed to get one side of his face completely sharp while the other is not.
The squinting eyes adds to the shot.

Hi Roger,

I am glad you spent that 2 minutes of this man's time (and yours), because they are worth wild. The result is amazing...

Despite tricky light conditions you have managed to make great portrait and you have captured the features of his face really well (I find his eyes the most attractive). My compliments to you...

Have a nice Sunday,

Stasa

Hi Roger

A wonderful b&w portrait of the bearded man with good sharpness & shallow dof. Excellent lighting contrasts & tonal range. Tfs!

Hello Roger
Great portrait
The B&W is very good
Well done
best regards

Hi, Roger -
Great subject with an interesting face - the facial hair adds a nice element to the details. Great expression and sharp, clear presentation. I like your technique of cropping so that not all of the subject's hair or head are in the frame, which focuses the eye on important features of the subject. Well done.
