I have posted several photos of our guy Corrie...
when we first adopted him, as a five-year old, and later
when he was still young,
and middle-aged, and then
as he got older.
This photo was Corrie's last summer. He liked sitting out in the grass. In the sun. On this warm day, we were sitting in our garden, foxgloves and delphiniums in bloom.
There is such love and kindness in Christina's face.
This is the last photo I have of them together.

Shot on Kodacolor 100, scanned in from the negative using a Nikon Coolscan 5000 scanner.
I like some aspects of this shot: the saturation of the colors, the relaxed, comfortable nature of the subject. I like the grain and out-of-focus background...I like that they soften the portrait. Sometimes my digital shots seem too harsh.
Parts I don't like as much: Corrie is too dark and a bit out of focus. The house in the background is distracting...but, for me, there were enough pluses to allow posting it.
As always, workshops welcome should you have ideas on improving this print.
