Cut their hair. :)))

The weather still sucks so I am trying something different. My nephew cuts his own hair and does quite a good job (amazing to me) and his friends thought so, too. So he has taken up giving THEM haircuts. This was taken indoors under incandescent light and backlight. Using one of my favorite lens. The Nikkor 85mm prime. I had to do some levels adjustments and color adjustments, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope you enjoy it.

Very good Shelly - nice focus and yes the Nikor 85mm is a cracker..... I think a plain black frame would look better rather than the two tone you got going here..

Interesting pose - can't say the guy getting his hair cut looks too happy about it LOL!!

David

Nice picture, both their expressions are good - the "barber" very focused and the guy having his hair cut not too happy. Also the tight crop and the black x white contrast of their skin tones is very nice. Nice blurred background to.
Great job, TFS

HI Shelly
You captured the intense look of concentration and sort of a doubt from the other.
The lens does a great job on blurring the background.
Good shot.

Hi Shelly,

Great shot of everyday life. It's interesting how people find what they are good at and how they develop that talent over time. Your nephew was fortunate to find this early in life, some of us never make that realization, or if they do they don't think about developing it.

That prime lens does a nice job, and your composition here is great!

Have a good week!
Reed

Ha! Great one Shelly!! Love the expression of the friends face .. like he's not all that sure about this razor coming at him!
For some reason, my favorite thing about this shot, is your nephews hand on top of his friends head ... with the shallow DOF, it looks almost 3D or something.
Great job Shelly. Hope your weather has gotten better!

Hi Shelly, Trudy says that she likes your nephew's hand on his freind's head and I do too. It does seem to have a 3d effect. I like the opposites of skins too. I like their expression, your nephew of concentration and his pal seems to have gone into a world of his own.
Good lens...great photographer!

Hi Shelly,

That's how I lost my hair letting any joe bloggs cut it lol. I like the simplicity of this shot the guy in the chair looks as if he is having a silent prayer. Great clarity of shot nice colours well done.

Regards
Jon

Powerful image, Shelly. Great composition putting the emphasis on the barber's serious concentration. The contrast of skin tones is wonderful and brings an almost 3D quality to the image. The expression of the guy who is getting his hair cut is priceless. Nice background. Good sharpness. I notice a sort of a halo along the edge of the "client"'s face, is that due to sharpening?

Enjoy your vacation.

Daniel
