At the end of the Shark Valley Tram road in the
Everglades National Park a friendly Alligator thought
it was nice to hang around in the sun a little...

Here you can see him smiling. :-)

I have no interest whatsoever of visiting the everglades just because of the alligators, crocodiles, snakes, and the like. I'm glad that others visit so that I can see the photos! :) I am hoping that you were in a car when you took this photo. I would have been scared to death, yet, comic relief for everyone else nearby. I like how you have the legs of the hikers at the head of the path. It shows that the path is shared by animal and human alike! :) Lisa

Thorsten,

This is classic humor! There are a few elements that need tweaking though:

• As with a good joke, subtlety is the best method of delivery. Having the big, bold sign hulking in the foreground may insult the intelligence of the viewer or seem condescending. I would blur it, and—if you are daring—crop out just enough of the right side of the sign so that the message is still discernible.

• Since you have subject matter of interest to the viewer in the foreground, mid and background diagonally from the top left to the bottom right, it is necessary to crop as tightly to the subject as possible to prevent the viewer from missing the legs of the pedestrians.

• Finally I would sharpen the alligator and the legs of the pedestrians for the sake of clarity.

Have a look at my workshop; hope you like it.

TFS,
Michael

Hi Thorsten,

Good catch to spot this humorous moment. Perhaps the alligator has a friend who owns a sign shop? Nice and sharp with great colors.

TFS,
Werner
