[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is film. After Shelby was born I quit my job and starting working in our woodshop, building furniture, etc. One of my first products was what we call down here in the south, "gingerbread" It's hand cut wood decorations for your house. These are some of my first projects.
I had that business 11 years, before I divorced it. It was his shop, his land....(I thought it was ours...shame on me) So I had to leave it all behind. But I took all the furniture I made, and my new life began. I have 3 times today what he has, spiritually, emotionally, physically.
This type of work is great for me, to work with my hands, I miss it.
Have a great day!
Linda

Great tones Linda

Loved the effects, lighting and placement of tools and gingerbread.
Very touchy story behind the photo.

Best of luck for future :)

Have a nice day

Cheers

Linda,
Your note brings such a high importance to the photo. The light goes with the thoughts - melancholic.

Tools and wood are wide available. Put it together with your will and have fun.

Cheers,

Wellington

Linda, You made these? Oh my gosh! What intricate details. Absolutely gorgeous. You've got to build you an out building so you can set up another shop just for you!! I would love to see more photos of your work. The curves in this are amazing.

About the photo itself. It has an old fashioned appeal to me. I like the black and white choice too. The lighting is soft and gentle. It would also look nice in sepia and made to look like an "Old" photo. :) Nice job on this one! Lisa

Hi Linda,

Lovely presentation . . I like the angle you captured with light from the back . .
Fine details with shadows . . Beautiful work Linda . .

Hi Linda,

Great job scanning that one in - I take it the film was black & white? Looks great - you are definitely multi-talented - beautiful work on both the presentation of the work in the photograph and the gingerbread. We have that up here in St. Louis. I guess a lot of folks consider us to be in the South, too, though...

Have a great day!

I love it! The woodwork is very impressive. I like the sepia tones and lighting, which are very suited to 'the past' and your note. TFS

hi linda,
i wish i could do things like that.
you are a very talented lady.

lovely tones in this. nicely composed and lit.

i didn't know you were allowed near sharp objects?
wasn't that the knife used in 'Psycho?????????'

hugs and kisses,
Brian

hi linda, sounds like your way better off, anyways cool b/w shot, very rustic looking, fine looking work you created too, great job on all levels!
tfs,
scott

It's very nostalgic photo, Linda! I like its old-fashioned look. B&W tones works perfectly here. The soft light emphasized delicacy of your woodworks.
Regards, Ewa

Hi, Linda -
Great image conveying the atmosphere of an honest workplace. I like the repeating pattern of the 3 pieces of "gingerbread" and the shot works so well in b&w. Your note is inspiring - you are a strong person to adapt the way you have, remembering what you lost but appreciating all you have gained. Your life experience informs your photography, and you are a great photographer, so you've gained that as well. Cheers -

jeez, not bad! And the photo is ok too ;-) Nice tones and lovely natural lighting, and it could only be B&W!
I was thinking about your note and a discussion I was having with my mentor (I'm studying Personal Training, but we're both martial artists and our discussions can get quite deep). Anyway, we were talking about choices the other day. Life is a choice. When things go all pear-shaped, we can choose to dwell on it and suffer, or we can choose to go on and grow, as you have done. I always find that inspiring - another green smiley for you!!! hehe
Regards,
Phil

Hi Linda
I must confess that I love this kind of intimist photos. I think Brian (Trampas) is a master in this kind of photos, but you got the perfect light and composition necessary to reveal the «hidden soul» of this daily life objects. Perfect. Congrats, José mb
