[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When a veteran dies in the Washington DC area, his funeral is honored by the presence of the Old Guard. This includes taps, here being discretely played from behind a tombstone in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in honor of a 91-year old WWII veteran. There aren't many left...

Lois, what an outstanding photograph and salute to our WWII vets. I can't say enough good things about it. It most certainly should be displayed on the front page of every newspaper and magazine in the United States in honor to all of our WW Veterans. I am a Vet and this photograph will definitely find a place in my most memorable archives.

Lois,

This is a very well composed image. I like the fact that the trumpeter is in the BG behind the branches and the gravestone.

It would be interesting to have taken another photo where the focus was on the gravestone and the trumpeter with a slight out of focus in the BG.

Hello Lois,
I keep coming back to this image,
and not commenting, to many flashbacks.
Its a very strong, emotional image,
and you have captured it very beautifully.
Best Wishes.
