[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I made the news again last night with one of my photos. The Space Shuttle Endeavor flew over, from northwest to southeast, directly over Houston, in a Docking Maneuver so we got a chance to see it. The photo is basically blue sky, stars and a white streak! But it meant something to the people in this area. So I will post it in WS.
This is a shot of the drought conditions that the Texas Hill Country is still experiencing. I did an HDR process and then converted to BW, because it seemed to fit the mood!
Thanks!
Linda

Hi Linda

I'm in Incheon tonight, & catch the early morning ferry to Baengnyeongdo (Island). A superb b&w image, with the row of tussock grass providing good lead in lines. Excellent repetition of the trees. Tfs!

Hi Linda,

We have more water than we want and you have none old mother nature seems to be of her eggs a bit. The dof is very good the b&w conversion helps makes the shot imho and emphasises your currents drought condition tfs.

Jon

Hi Linda,
This post could be my yard(only bigger). No rain here either. Grass is dying trees are going bare. Just not a good time. I like the shot though. It does give credance to the word DROUGHT.

Hi Linda,
lovely mono conversion, plenty of contrast between tones and a well chosen POV using the trees to create bags of depth. Nice work, and i think the workshop is awesome too :o)
Paul

First I must say thank you for sharing the ws with us. That's so awesome!!
This beautiful b&w takes me back to my childhood when the days were spent on horseback in places so similar to this. I love the well thought out composition, the repetition of the trees. Very nice lighting and contrast. LOADS of depth. TFS

Hello Linda,

It's like tuning into the newsreel on your site, today!
How exciting!

Two very interesting and very different shots.

The line of trees really does not resemble what you expect in summer! It looks more like a winter's scene!
(I find it difficult to associate with your drought as we are experiencing the most horrendous downpours on a daily basis! So much for a barbecue summer!!)
A fine composition and good use of b&w.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Linda, fascinating B&W composition with lovely trees, splendid light, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

this shot is haunting! very cool, you are so good at this hdr thang too! the b/w and the vertical format is so perfect, man this is good! has a classic spook to it,
tfs,
scott

Particularly with that dark sky, black and white really compliments this contrasty landscape shot very well.
