What a parachute this bird has! These big mouth birds are so stupid that most times they run into each other. The totally have no idea how to fly and land. So we stand on the shore and laugh at them!
This was taken on a cloudy, rainy day!
Hope you all have a great day!
Linda

Hi Linda, or, excuse me, Warrior for Thuth :o)
Great shot! If the bird was not so stupid the shot will not so good...
Very good and have a nice day.

Hi Warrior,

A splendid landscape.
Interesting concept of achievement.
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Linda,
Great action shot. I enjoy trying to capture birds as they land on water, not the easiest shot to get. The detail here is nice and the action is perfectly frozen. Nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

hi linda.
that has got to be painful? ooouuuuuch!

well captured and with excellent clarity.

i'm on the shore LMAO.

hugs,
Brian

Wow, the "Gang" hunted?! Perfect capture of the scene, excellent how sharp these big mouth brothers are shown. Maybe a tad too tight, the front "big mouth" has hardly andy space to go to :-)
Nonetheless a great picture from nature, well captured and presented!
Hans

Perfect capture and great timing of this wonderful birds. I like these birds but they are very difficult to photograph. The note is brief but informative and the smart cropping helped the composition. Cheers and TFS.

Hi Linda,

Excellent shot of the landing, you've frozen the action very well. It looks like there's gonna be a pile-up. Very sharp, with perfect timing.

Regards,
Werner

Hi Linda,
This one made me smile, because I think you have truly nailed it with this one. The lighting, crop, DOF, sharpness and attention to detail all look excellent! You were lucky to have a cloudy day to eliminate any risks of OE. You've frozen them well with the fast shutter speed, really impressive work.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Linda,
Well timed shot and well suited title

Wonderfull picture Linda,
Top caliber. I like the panoramic crop you've done on this one. Amazing scene, a good timing, capturing those birds, specially the landing one, the show piece. This is "truly" what "decisive moment" stands for. I call those, shot of a life time...)) Check your exposure....Just joking..))) Your exposure is as fine as any of your post. Good contrast, and very well tuned colors. Nice work ....

hi linda, nice sharp image and the almost panoramic crop works well, its funny these guys are so daft, god blessed them with the stupid gene i guess, hahaha,
anyways i hope you are well,
scott

They live in our area too, almost identical - went out to take pics on the Oldman River but got sidetracked taking shots of other stuff which turned out better than my pelicans (I am way too picky now, since I got them better last year).
Don't laugh at them too hard, the beaks look quite formidable and maybe they don't have a sense of humor.
One of my rare visits here (might get rarer yet - this place is going to the dumps lately)
Cheers
otto

Hi Linda,
That is a great nature shot for sure. I like that these birds are queuing up regularly and you timing was excellent to capture the landing of the last one. 1/1000 shutter proved to be perfect to freeze this action, the panoramic crop was also a good idea for the composition. Well done, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof
