I love hands that play music! This is for the Hands Theme. These are the hands of my friend Lawrence, who is quite the musician. I love my heavy camera and my IS lens...it allows me to handhold, in low light and shoot at 1/40 sec. That is what an IS lens can do for you! They are worth every penny!
Tomorrow we go for a 30 mile outside bike ride! Can't wait! Hope you guys have a great weekend!
B-)

Somehow, this photo makes me think of Sandy's (messenger1) upload for today. Just some rays of light brightening up the dark suffice to make us hear the music, Linda. Great mood!
Effective DOF, composition and timing as well.
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

LINDA,
A true artistic photo. Most excelent contribution. The lighting, the details, the composition all excellent. Good B&W choice. Good luck with the bike ride ! TFS Julie

Hi Linda...

Absolutely perfect for the hands theme. Great thinking to focus on the hands only. So many times, we look at the "big picture" and forget the small details. Black and white is the only way to go for this kind of shot. Your focusing on this is perfect for the foreground and background. :) Lisa

ciao Linda..
it's always fashinating to catch hands that play music.. but here light makes the difference.. to create a magic atmosfere indeed!.. great realise!
my compliments
ciao Marco

Nice soft mood created Linda ! i like the B&W version and the nice soft light in the pict. Only if i could hear the music playing......

regards, willie

Hello Linda

Yes I think too that it is a very artistic shot.
Clever choice for b&w.
I like this music classic atmopshere.
Juts the essential here, no more no less, perfect for my eyes.

Best regards

hi linda, great add to theme, the b/w is so classic, wonderful sharpness too, nice one!
have a great ride!
tfs,
scott

Don't give a stuff about the theme, this is just a pretty nice and classy shot. B/W is a perfect choice for this, I think, abd some good light in the image and nice depth of field with the primary focus on the hand closest to us.

My only thought is that I think I would prefer the hands closer to the front of the frame with the keyboard leading into the distance.

But a nice shot, Linda - could see it framed and displayed in a Jazz bar.

Hi Linda,
This shot is very artistic, simple and effective. Great use of the light and nice composition. Great adition to the theme.

Ave Maria...
The tones of this image are excellent, very good depth...

What ever they say Linda, you do got the gift.
Your shot are always full of surprise. You don't have to be slow, to put some taught in a shot, and that you marveliously do.

Not so much about flattering note, but as they say "you got to give to Ceasar what's belong to Ceasar. Don't let anyone's torn, affect you in anyway, never anger, leave that to the dishonest.

Hope to see so much more "work" from you, I think that word applies rather well here..)))

Lovely shot - beautifully controlled DOF and the way the light is coming from beyond the hands and falling across them, and the keys, is excellent.

Good choice to make this b&w

Hi, Linda -
Excellent hand image - the b&w plays well with the interplay of light/shadow and compliments the black/white keys. His foremost hand is really full of character, the contours are sharply shown and is partially in sunlight giving the nice highlight on his ring. Really nice image. You are so right about IS lenses - they really make a lot of things possible that you'd have a hard time doing with a non-stabilized lens.

The picture, mood and B&W all ingrdients for the perfect kind of Jazz album-cover Linda, this is good taste and idea.

O my god,why calling yourself ""warrior of truth"" Linda??,it sound a bit like religious fanatism...;]](O no not again)
I like Linda much more to be honest....

jan

i love it.

Hey, Linda,
how did I miss this one?? I LOVE musicians' hands (and they're usually quite beautiful). This is wonderful. The light coming in from an angle reminds me of a church pianist's hands for some reason. I love the shadows and the contrast is perfect. B&W was a perfect choice for it, too. That's a lovely shot. Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hi Linda,

Hi Linda,
A great contribution to the theme "hands" . Lovely light on these artistic fingers playing the piano. Superb DOF with the left hand sharp and the right hand blurred, which makes it an interesting subject. The brightness and contrast are perfect controlled. Great posting my dear Cowgirl.

Bonjour Linda,
I came a little bit late across this one.
this is exactely what I was expecting for the theme, and shall I say, that I was expecting from you!!!
This the same kind of picture that are all along your portfolio. All emotional and/or suggestive.
First, here, I was surprised by the strong bokeh on the right hand, but then it appeared more and more appealing. The narrow depth of field works very well in this composition.

I have the same feeling as Richard, wishing to see more of the keyboard...

Always a pleasure to read from you.

Damien.
