hi niek, an awesome wide angle point of view, 32 seconds wow-i love those filters-i hear this is what people use for waterfall shots during the midday, your dad must not of moved an inch as he seems fairly sharp in the frame,
nice psot,

Hi Niek,
I really like the POV and composition of the shot. The texture of the rocks is nice and the details are sharp, even your father. The ND filters worked well here. Nice shot.

Kevin
Bonjour Niek
Amazing shot; rocks seem to be in 3D and the landscape is wonderful.Your management of times was perfect and this makes me more and more impatient to try HDR;And I think this sort of scene is exactly what works best with this technique

Hi Niek,
Amazing shot, the long exposure has created such a wonderful effect. You were very lucky for your dad not to move during that time! Lol. Love the colours in this scene, the composition and DOF are great also. Impressive work.

Scott.

Nice use of the filter, good placement of horizon and good colour tones in this shot. The smoothness of the shifting water is well achieved.

I really loved the coloring Effects on the sky!
60 secs exposure is quite a longer then normal but defiantly it was needed.
Very nice, clarity and tonality is too good!
However, i (just my self defiantly u can (dis)agree) feels that it'd have been better if u've attempted this one from a little right side getting rid off the hill at right side (a better balance???) and presenting the pure touch of sea n sky.
Ur dad played vital role here thats a no doubt :)

Salut Niek.
L’effet grand-angle donne ici tout raison d’utilisation.
La fuyante est parfaite, les contrastes et couleurs bien contrôlé.
Un beau travail photographique.
Bonne journée.

This is absolutely magnificent Niek!
I love the way the waves on the beach turn into some kind of mysterous mist due to the long shutterspeed.
I also really like the colors and the view. You've chosen a good point of view and your dad doing his "thing" there is very nice; gives good sense of size and perspective.
Cheers,
Anneke
Hi Niek
Well done. This is one of the more unique shots of haystack Rock that I have seen. Your PP and use of HDR has really paid off here. The ocean is a nice soft blending of colour.

Hi Niek, first I'm sorry that you feel that HDR is a madness,I rather enjoy using it, though it's effects are so different from the true merging of exposures, it has it's place, though not a high one, within the true believers circle & that's fair, but this is a new age with new techniques which some like to try & what's the harm?
Anyway back to this image, I find the composition is strong, the inclusion of your father into the scene keeps my eye focused within the image & not moving over to Haystack rock.I believe your long exposure time, due to the use of the
ND3 grad, gave that wonderful smooth look to the incoming waves. Sharp & detailed. It was good that you had a clear blue sky, absent of clouds, as that may have caused a problem lining up when merged.

Hi Niek,
Almost thought you were in New Zealand. Hope you had a great time in the USA this photo proofs you had great photographic opportunities. Excellent POV nicely low and well composed. Excellent clarity and natural coloured structures. A fine posting, TL is improving again :-)

Hello Niek,
Such a classic composition. I am impressed that your dad stayed relatively still for a good while. I see no blur, the image is sharp. The UWA lens was effectively used and appears distortion free. The ND filter certainly aided in an even exposure and perhaps intensified the blues. I share your sentiment re: HDR madness although I must admit your tone mapping looks very good and natural. Greetings!

Hi Niek,
I don't know why, probably due at your slow shutter speeds and the use of wide angle, but I have the impression to fly slowly over this landscape. And the impression is really exciting! How I would like my photos have this effect! :)
The eye bird POV makes an interesting composition enhanced by the placement of your dad in diagonal with the lonely rock at the horizon. The fluidity of colors and a great sense of space give a true invitation au voyage's mood!
Bravo! Annie

Hi Niek,
Wow, really beautiful landscape with awsome brown tones. The exposition is sharp and very clear. It was good to include the man with the tripod, it gives a fine scale to the rocks. Great demonstrational image, it shows well that without HDR, we can achive wonderful scenes. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hallo Niek,
TFS & groeten,
Erik
