[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some parts of Texas are as if they haven't changed in the last 100 years. This is an HDR shot of a downtown street in Trinity, Texas. It's the same as when I was a little girl, it's the same as 100 years ago. I used the Sunny 16 rule!
Hope you all have a great Sunday!
B-)
Linda

hi linda.
all that's missing is a cowboy on a chair smoking a stogie.

very nice hdr. not overcooked, like some of mine. ;-(

very moody and full of gritty realism.

A bit of a tight crop Linda, but it most certainly is a great place to shoot pics... Great colors and details all over.
Well done!

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi again Linda,
Good use of the sunny F16 rule. I've been dying to try it out, but we've had nothing but clouds and rain here in Auckland lately. This is a very suitable subject for HDR, particularly when it comes to the bricks. The clouds look nice and defined as a result of the tone mapping process too.

Some very minor perspective distortion near the top of the building, possibly due to the wide-angle lens, but it's nothing too noticeable and the bottom story looks perfectly straight (I'm in a picky mood today). Nice work.

TFS,
Scott.

I really love these old brick buildings and the picture is beautiful!! Such a nice crop! This is an area I really have problems with, I can't seem to figure out how to crop. I DO KNOW that I like this one, but lost when it comes to doing it myself. Nice detail and colors as always. TFS

i love the sharpness, rich colors, textures, composition, its such a nice well balanced shot technically,
i am seeing a lot of this sunny 16 on the site these days! thats cool!
tfs,
scott

Hello Linda,

I'm not too sure of some of the HDR shots that we have had where the colours seem unnatural, but this IS perfect. The sunny rule has worked to perfection!
I like the tight crop, the sharp focus and the great textural details of the building.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Linda,
Indeed it looks like it hasn't changed one bit in the last 100 years as the view of this brick building reveals, well it was well maintained though , the HDR makes it appear as if i was standing right there, love the effect , good idea and it also seems very quiet , the little patch of sky creates quite a moody feel to the scene , did you leave the red cone in on purpose , he he ,the crop is tight but i really appreciate the emphasis you have put on that row of buildings the centerpiece of your compo, good eye and tfs,
Carol

Hi Linda,
Well I agree with Anneke about the crop, I wish you had showed some more in this scene. Anyway the warm colour of the red wall is perfect and creates an authentic mood of the "Wild West", interesting perspective raising the question: what's around the corner? Anyway a fine view of "things which hardly change".
Hans
